After about 20 minutes, George and I realized that Nona was is distress. She was unable to deliver her kid. After not being able to speak with our vet, we decided to try to pull the kid out. It was a little stressful for me, but the Lord was gracious and it all ended well.

We decided to name the big doeling “Gracie”

We went from spring to mid 90’s a little too quick but I finally got the majority of my garden planted. Lord willing, Monday I will get the squash and mangle beets planted on the east side. My pigs did a fine job of tilling the ground for me.

The only other area not planted is the 2 squares in my english herb garden for lettuce and spinach. At this rate, I think it may be too late. The heat will be too much for them

Yesterday was a bit shocking. I wasn’t looking forward to the white stuff covering the deck when I awoke but it was.

Today is not much better. Although there is no snow, it definitely feels colder outside. But not to worry, I have much to do inside. I will have to put my outside chores aside for another day. Perhaps only until the weekend.

I purchased my seeds that I would love to get started soon. I even have a greenhouse in which to start them. Temperatures in the 30’s is a bit much.

I turned over my herb garden, but didn’t get a chance to get my lettuce or spinach in the ground before it turned cold again. Lord willing this weekend.
